KONGONET Sues for Continuous Engagement of Stakeholders by Nigeria Police Force

The Kogi NGO Network (KONGONET) has called on the Nigeria Police Force to engage stakeholders on a continuous basis as the general elections draw near. This was disclosed in the Network’s Quarterly Press Release.

In the release, the Network highlighted what it termed the ‘twin disaster’ of the attack on security personnel leading to two deaths on Agbaja road and a bomb explosion at the gate of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland leading to the loss of three lives. They expressed concern opining that the security situation in Kogi State requires some review citing that the bombing incident is an unfortunate one as Kogi State has never been known for such.

The Network commended the Commissioner of Police, CP. Akeem Yusuf, for convening a security dialogue session to address security issues earlier in the quarter under review. They however called for the sustenance of the engagement of key stakeholders by the Police Force Kogi State Command so as to attain the common goal of peace and security of the lives and properties of Kogites.
